Integral theory is an explanation for how cultural philosophy evolved. This is my simplified approach to understanding the flow of integral theory:
1. Caveman philosophy - survival
2. Tribal philosophy - family values
3. Domination philosophy - empire building
4. Religious Empire philosophy - stability through narrative, rules, and order
5. Scientific Enlightenment philosophy - freedom to explore and succeed
6. Postmodern philosophy - skepticism, equality and empathy
7. Integral philosophy - appreciate each layer, understand hierarchies, coordinate different strengths together into a more successfully integrated whole
8. Post-integral philosophy - we haven't evolved to this point yet, but the sages of the past hinted about its transcendent values of unity, brotherhood, and universal love
