Game theory simulations prove that creatures adapted for truth go extinct when faced with competition that doesn't see truth but rather sees "fitness points" (FBT - Fitness Beats Truth).
Everything we can sense is a model of reality adapted for fitness purposes rather than truth purposes ("interface theory of perception").
Science has plenty of examples where perceptions are not matched up with reality. Example of humans with mutations in their sense of taste that allows them to taste in 3 dimensions - each taste summoning up a unique 3D object in their perception that represents their taste. Example - people that can see sounds as color.
We still don't understand the truth of consciousness or why a universe exists in the first place.
There may be a deeper reality ("source code") at the base of existence that is much more rich and true than the one we see.
