Per David, the I2.0 standards:
"I updated the list of 2.0 principles:
Key differences Between "the Integral Brand" and "IErM":
1. No Cosmological Idealism or Creationism
No “spirit” underlying everything, or inherent telos to the cosmos, No afterlife, ultimate perfection, or transcendence. - We do not believe in mythic supernatural ideas about where we came from and where we are going. These ideas are only supported by fallacious reasoning, they are outdated, they have no evidence to support them, and holding these ideas brings nothing to the table practically. Holding onto these ideas is to stand in the way of rational & moral progress. Holding these ideas often also gives one an unhealthy relationship to life. - We say YES to life, this world, this reality. We see suffering and impermanence as things that make life worth living, they help us to appreciate what we have and motivate us to make things better. Life is not an illusion or a dream. - Reality is real and we have a healthy relationship to it.
2. Emergentism
Consciousness is an emergent quality of matter, not the source of it, and there are no good reasons or evidence to think otherwise. This Emergentist perspective cannot be reduced to empiricism or exterior quadrant reductionism. (no tetra-arising all the way back - only in sentient beings) There is no “love” in basic chemistry. That is anthropomorphic projection (acting like inanimate objects have human feelings) and pseudoscience (working backward from what you would like to be true and trying to find ways to make the world fit into religious/mythic preconceptions about it).
3. Pre/Trans Distinctions.
We include both the cup (poetry) and the sword (rationality). Understanding the relative nature of all language, we can speak poetically within our community using any and all symbol sets, and we can qualify our poetry in terms of something real. - We can also use the power of these distinctions as translations down the spiral to speak the language of other traditions or worldviews from within to move people towards goodness and truth with skillful means.
4. Epistemological Skillfulness and Humility
We focus on becoming, creating, and self-mastery, not JUST self-transcendence and state training. We advocate for sacred Naturalism and a post-formal or trans-rational Integral Spirituality/Religion. We include 4 S’s or an all quadrants approach to spiritual practice. Reality is real and we have a healthy relationship to it. Our ultimate goals are not “personal spiritual enlightenment, freedom, and transcendence” but a better world in the here and now for us all. tory power”. This epistemology is a primary factor in healthy integral leadership.
5. We Embrace Life
We focus on becoming, creating, and self-mastery, not JUST self-transcendence and state training.
6. Movement/Lifestyle vs Products/Events
The focus of 2.0 shifts from the individual and individual efforts (which 1.0 focused on) to creating and maintaining a healthy Integrally Informed Community who’s goal is to birth the Integral Age through an Integral Movement. This includes skillful leadership, organization, integration, & outreach, as well as creating and maintaining affordable and available content and events for all economic classes.
7. Embracing Debates and Disagreements
We care about the actually true and good most of all. We embrace creative friction, not to be contrarian or to talk trash, but to process tensions in a way that will help us refine and grow. We include and embrace the Western Enlightenment project and want to work together to create better ideas, methods, and systems so we can create a better more healthy world together.
8. rEvolutionary
We see the need for a non-violent approach to rEvolution. We are committed to creating new transformational Integrally Informed systems (governance, educational, religious, social, etc.) not JUST a focus on translation within existing systems. We are working towards a Collective-Individualist Integral synthesis and putting in place Integral Governance.
9. Anti- Racism/Sexism
Racism or sexism is not tolerated. If people make explicit racist/sexist statements or implications they will be kicked out unless/until they denounce racism/sexism and apologize.
10. Engaging content
We are committed to creating affordable and accessible content. While 1.0 keeps it’s ideas behind a paywall and makes little to no attempt to make accessible intro material or content 2.0 will work to make Integral ideas accessible to the general public. Money shouldn’t be a determining factor. We will also work to make content that is fun and accessible to regular people. Not everyone is rich or an academic philosopher and we shouldn't expect them to rise to these standards to meet us."
